Why, if a person does not follow any religion, or believes in a God who acts like an inconsistent, psychopathic human and defines Magic as the way the brain functions, factually, as a magical process but does not believe in supernatural magic - talk about magic and religion?
The answer is, It is interesting to look at all the things man has done over the millennia of his existence to try to explain the unknown with Imaginary beings who act like men do in order to escape responsibility for their own decisions, resulting in harm to others by blaming God, Devils, Demons, and other supernatural forces. It is equally interesting to notice the fact that men have used disobedience to and punishments by gods as a method to control behavior in accordance with what men justify for seemingly arbitrary reasons.
Notice, one of the key symptoms of mental illness is religious delusions which can be exacerbated by the prescribing of psychiatric medications whose side effects include hallucinations, Increased suicidality, Anxiety (akathisia), and Increased violence. https://www.madinamerica.com/2021/07/prescripticide-exposes-harms/
In spite of all this, I do believe there is a God. As I have explained I have been thought to be dead twice. I had to be resuscitated both times. One time it was reported I was unresponsive for 5 minutes. Both times I experienced a benevolent presence that was not anything like a drug-induced hallucination. It was a truly clear feeling that in spite of knowing my body was dying I had nothing to fear. There was no confusion, no euphoria, no crazy hallucinations. Just an overwhelming feeling that everything was going to be ok.
I have had dug induced hallucinations of gods punishing me and rewarding me as well as of strange beings from aliens, angels, demons, djinns, trolls, witches, werewolves, and other fairy tale creatures chasing me through a dilapidated house while tripping and falling and stumbling much mike in horror movies.
They have all inspired me to think about those stories. They have all inspired me to think about and make up my own stories just as others have and made up their own little narratives, some of which turned into religions that have influenced people to do wonderful things that have helped humanity, brought peace to troubled minds, provided food, clothing, and housing, dug wells, built schools and hospitals, built self-sustaining communities as well as brought people together to pray for the wellbeing of others very sincerely.
Others have inspired some of the cruelest and most destructive wars. The enslavement of entire ethnic populations. Some have been inspired to commit horrendous acts of cruelty, some of the most tortuous judgmental pursuits of innocent people who, as during the witch hunts, have done nothing but use herbs for healing.
Innocent people have been blamed for being "in League with the "Devil “or being possessed by demons or djinns or other such imaginary creatures for having schizophrenia or other disorders for bringing "destruction" to the lives of cruel, bad men who wanted to take something from someone else without paying and used those imaginary beings as an excuse to do so.
Others have overlooked the fact that pedophiles had infiltrated their ranks by moving the clergy around rather than turning them over to law enforcement. It was not just the Catholics, The Catholic Church just had deep pockets. There have been a number of protestant ministers and missionaries as well as foster parents and social workers who have been caught as well. We do not hear about them because they do not have deep pockets. They never made the news because they were not a worldwide organization that could be demonized and sued. The fact that lawyers need to be able to recover money in order to deliver justice has been responsible for a great deal of injustice.
I also wrote a post on my perception of a sensible religion that has no issue with science. (https://www.atlgothworks.com/post/a-new-religion-ethical-essentialism) with a non-dualistic God who does not interfere and benevolently created the universe and gives people self-determination and the ability to adapt to a hostile chaotic environment in a universe hostile to human life. A God who does not require justice or retribution. A God who gives us a purpose by allowing us to struggle, learn, succeed or fail, and take responsibility for our actions in order to build a life for ourselves in accordance to our will as much on our own terms as realistically achievable even though we may have to fight to make those opportunities work for us.
The superior position, almost every psychologist I have ever met is to have gratitude for what we do have and can do rather than blaming others or events common to everyone. You have the choice to accept and deal with the consequences or rewards of your actions. You can enjoy what you do have and what you can do or you can complain that nothing will ever be good enough.
You have the potential to achieve great things or deliver great unfairness, You have the choice to accept the labels such as racist, sexist, Islamophobic, homophobic, transphobic, and a number of other labels as weapons to virtue signal while committing the same acts in their own self-serving pursuits of social justice for, in many are simply due to the reality that fairness, in any society is a logical fallacy. It can never exist; equity can never exist because there is no way to punish people into compliance with unpopular ideas.
Marginalization is a fact of life. For decades therapists told me, you have an issue, you need things explained to you very clearly in that due to your brain injury you have a black and white way of looking at things. Your brain does not deal well with ambiguity. You need to let those you deal with know about this and give them the opportunity to help you understand.
The overwhelming response is - "That is your problem, deal with it". I have always had to fight for what I wanted. My condition has always been used against me to make me look like the one at fault. Even my sister, who has helped me the most in practical ways does exactly that, and when it comes to jobs and disputes the terms are discrimination and marginalization. Every single person on the planet experiences these things.
imagined wrongs done to them based on an ideology of victimization, marginalization and an intersectional hierarchy of both real personal issues, which can be fixed by a change of attitude as well as imagined slights born of mental illness and medications that can cause hallucinations, increased depression and suicidality and social isolation.
Basically, people who prefer the mentality of victimization rather than adapting to and overcoming the same difficulties most every person on the planet suffers except a very few who get blamed for everything (The Rich) suffer exponentially more. Attitude is everything. Everyone needs encouragement to be who they are unabashedly and needs support and help in fighting for themselves appropriately.
Interesting, this creature - humanity.
My business is using symbols to help people feel better and be more successful using the brain’s ability to do what it naturally does and is backed by Neuroscience. Yes, it is magical the things we can achieve if we just hack our brain’s natural capacities. https://www.atlgothworks.com.
